Franz Gableck was born in 1910 in Lower Austria, Austria, and died in 1974. His oeuvre comprises only a few sheets. The artist always carried his materials, mainly pencils, coloured pencils, and wax crayons, with him in his trouser pockets. He chose his motifs himself, expressing great immediacy and vitality, and dedicated each of his works to “Mr. Primarius Leo Navratil”. His works can be found in the Arnulf Rainer Collection, Austria, or the Hannah Rieger Collection, Austria.
