Fritz OPITZ

Fritz Opitz was born in 1911 in Klosterneuburg, Lower Austria, and spent the last six years of his life in theHouse of Artists until his death in 1987. He first produced drawings in pencil, for which he often used templates, then he painted them with gouache and finally he traced the contours with Indian ink. Sometimes he added lettering. Edelweisses are usually found in the corners and he chose other flowers to border the sides. His works can be found in the Graphic Art Collection of the Albertina Museum, Vienna, in the Lentos Art Museum, Linz, and in the Dagmar and Manfred Chobot Collection, Vienna, among others.
