Erich ZITTRA

(1915 - 1980)

Erich Zittra was born in 1915 in Lower Austria, Austria, and died in 1980. Zittra began drawing at an advanced age. In the centre of his choice of motifs were houses, churches and animals such as rabbits, which appear repeatedly in his work. Most of his motifs are almost beyond recognition as the artist covered them with a flood of strokes in various colours. The result were dense, almost abstract drawings. His works can be found in the State Collections of Lower Austria, Austria, and in the Helmut Zambo Collection, Germany.
