Anton Dobay was born in 1906 in Frankenberg, Germany, and lived in theHouse of Artists in Gugging until his death in 1986. Dobay created free interpretations based on templates from art history. Particularly striking is the intense coloration of his drawings, for which he used pencil, coloured pencils, or oil crayons. His works are represented in the Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, Austria, and in the Helmut Zambo Collection, Germany, among others.
