Christa WIENER

(1957)

Christa Wiener was born in 1957 in Vienna, Austria. The artist first discovered drawing at a creative workshop in Germany in 2011 and has been visiting the studio gugging twice a week since 2017. She finds her source of inspiration in nature, especially in the forest, and combines its reality such as trees, plants and seeds with unreality. Meticulous, structured and extremely delicate, she creates her works with pencil, fineliner, felt pens, Indian ink and often in more than five layers of coloured pencils. Forms and optical balance are very important to the artist, which is also reflected in her motto: “I walk into the forest and I compose my pictures there.”
